Early Life

On the 13th of October in the year 1980, Padita was born in Lagos, Nigeria, into a Christian family of 7, two parents, and five children.

She was born into an Igbo family and had a keen interest in acting right from her primary school days. She started harnessing her acting prowess as a kid by participating in acting competitions and also acting in local events as a kid.

Education

Her University education started at the University of Lagos where she was previously studying Creative arts before she left and enrolled at the University of Abuja where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts.

The thespian also studied an Acting and Film Making course at the prestigious New York Film Academy, Hollywood Branch, in the US.

Career

Padita’s acting career kicked off professionally in 2002 when she got a role as a nurse in a movie titled Formidable Force which was directed by Teco Benson. It was her first-ever audition in Lagos.

She came into the limelight after starring in the popular Nigerian horror movie, Egg Of Life where she acted alongside Nollywood veterans like Clarion Abiola, Ebele Okaro, Pete Edochie, and many others.

The pursuit of education made her take a long break from acting. She finally returned back and has so far starred in numerous movies like Final Mansion, Burning Heart, Beyond The Song, Without Apology, Into Temptation, The last Three Digits, Single Ladies, and many others.

Personal Life

Padita Agu is a divorcee. The actress was previously married to an unknown man and they had a daughter together.

Three years later, their marriage hit the rock button and they parted ways. The actress revealed that her marriage to her previous husband was like a “living hell” and she had suicidal thoughts during the marriage.
