Career

Two weeks before her high school graduation, when Pam Hardy was just 18 years old, she met drag racing star, “Jungle” Jim Liberman while Jim was driving his yellow Corvette on the streets of suburban West Chester.

Pam and Jim started dating and she ditched college to join him in drag racing and she toured with him for four years.

Pam was hired by Jim to get fans’ attention at the track while she was staging his funny car on the line. Pam was well endowed and dressed without a bra with a tank top or skimpy halter and jean shorts with a zero-inch inseam. Before a run, Pam would also check under the vehicle for fluid leaks, and fill the block with water and eight quarts of 70W oil, and after each run, she packed parachutes and helped Jim to reposition his car on the line after his burnouts.

Jim and Pam garnered lots of attention and they appeared in Vrooom!, a 16-minute documentary directed by Rudolph. Jim was named #17 on the list of the Top 50 NHRA drives.

On the 9th of September, 1997, Jim died while he was driving his Chevrolet Corvette Car and since then Pam never worked with any other driver.

Personal Life/Previous Lovers

Pamela Hardy dated “Jungle” Jim Liberman right from when she graduated from high school. They worked together and became so famous that Pamela earned the nickname ‘Jungle’ Pam Hardy.

Jim eventually died on September 9, 1977, when he was driving Chevrolet Corvette Car in West Goshen Township near West Chester. He rounded a corner on the West Chester Pike at an excessive speed and collided with a SEPTA transit bus head-on. After about 45 minutes, responders were able to remove Jim’s body from the wreckage.

Pam later got married to the owner of Funny Car, Fred Frey and they later got divorced.

Pam got married again to Bill Hodgson, the guy who tuned George Reidnauer’s Excalibur Corvette Nostalgia Funny Car.
