Justice Stanley Nnaji was a Nigerian lawyer and a former Chief Judge at the Federal High Court in Enugu. He was from Mbu, Isi-Uzo Local government Area of Enugu State.
Career
Justice Stanley Nnaji served as a Chief Judge in Enugu High Court till 2007. He was involved in the controversial removal of Dr. Chris Ngige as the governor of Anambra State in 2004.
Justice Nnaji was removed as Chief judge after Nnoruka Udechukwu, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice wrote a petition against Justice Nnaji to the Nigerian Judiciary Council (NJC)
He accused Justice Stanley Nnaji of wrongly assuming jurisdiction in the case that sacked Dr Ngige as governor of Anambra state.
Personal Life
He was a Christian man, he was married and had children.
Death
Justice Stanley Nnaji was murdered by unidentified gunmen in Enugu on Sunday, 30th of May, 2021, while driving in a black Mercedes Benz SUV.
He was shot severally beside the Enugu Diagnostics Centre, by Ebeano Tunnel, after he was double-crossed and dragged out of his car. As seen from a video recorded and posted by an eyewitness, they drove away with his car after killing him.
