Maria Chike Agueze who is simply known as Maria is a 29-year-old former air hostess, realtor, and Reality TV Star.

She was born in 1992 in Owerri and hails from Imo State, Nigeria. Maria is one of the housemates at the 6th Season (Shine Ya Eye) of the Big Brother Naija Reality TV show.

Education

She attended Trinity High School where she had part of her high school education then she continued at MANCAT College in Manchester, UK. Maria studied HNC Performing Arts at City College Manchester in 2006 and also attended the University of Salford where she studied Media and Performance from 2008 to 2011.

Career

Maria’s career kicked off in 2006 when she served as Front Of House Representative at Grosvenor Casinos in Manchester, UK, from 2006 to 2011. She provided general reception duties such as typing letters/reports and filing. Maria’s tasks at Grosvenor Casino included accurately and effectively responding to telephone calls on behalf of the General Manager, answering customer queries, arranging meetings, and diary management. She also supervised other members of staff where necessary and provided training to new members of the team.

In May 2011, she joined Goodenough College UK as an administrative Assistant. At Goodenough College, Maria ensured that all guests and members receive a warm welcome and a lasting and positive impression of the College. She was the first point of contact for all members and dealt with all situations in a courteous manner.

Maria proved that she is a good team member, can multi-task, and work and even work under pressure. She responded to a wide range of member requests and promoted college facilities, manage invoicing payments and cash operations during the day shift, reported all facilities and maintenance issues to the Helpdesk. She also monitored premises security, screened visitors, updated logs, and issued passes. Maria prepared packages for shipment, pickup, or courier delivery to customers. She coordinated office inventory by restocking supplies and placing purchase orders while keeping the reception area clean and neat to give visitors a positive impression of the company.

Maria joined KBC Financial Products as Human Resources Assistant in 2012 and worked there for seven months. Maria took charge of the organization of KBC Financial Products; Organizing/processing payroll accounts. She handled new employees’ Orientation and screening CV’s for employment and also led a comprehensive safety training for 25 staff members.

Maria analyzed departmental documents for appropriate distribution and filing, handled understaffing, disputes, terminating employees and administering disciplinary procedures.

Seven months after her stay at KBC Financial Products, she left and joined Deloitte UK for a year and half and she was the Personal Assistant of the CEO of Deloitte UK. This is where Maria got exposed to the hospitality industry as her duties included the planning of domestic and international travel and itineraries, including flight, car service, and restaurant reservations for the CEO.

In August 2014, Two months after she left Deloitte UK, she joined Emirates as a Cabin Crew member. Her job as a Cabin Crew took her to different parts of the world. According to her, she has traveled to all parts of the world except Antarctica. After which she then became a realtor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to her, she has traveled to all parts of the world except Antarctica.

On the 25th of July, 2021, she was announced as a housemate at the Big Brother Naija Season 6.
