Pa Christopher Ajilore, simply known as Pa Chris Ajilore was a Nigerian highlife musician and record producer.
Pa Chris was born on December 26, 1929, at Okepopo on Lagos Island and hails from Osun State. He died on the 21st of February, 2021, and was well known for his hit record ‘Eko Ogba Gbere’.
Education
He was a student of CMS Grammar School, Lagos, and studied engineering at Birmingham Technical College. He also attended Central School of Dance Music, West Street, London.
Career
While watching other bands play music, Pa Ajilo developed an interest in music while he was still in secondary school. His love for music made him study Music under Aubrey Frank, Don Randell, Jimmy Ducher, Johnny Dankworth, and many others.
His music career kicked off in the year 1955. He was a record producer and owner of Polygram Records where he groomed young and upcoming artists. From 1993 to 2007, Pa Ajilo was also the pioneer General manager of the Performing and Mechanical Rights Society of Nigeria. During Independence Day’s celebration at Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, Pa Ajilo performed alongside Victor Olaiya and Chukwuwetalu Arinze and at the time, he was still the president of the Nigerian Union of Musicians.

Death
Pa Chris Ajilore died on the 21st of February 2021 at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, Osun State. He died at the age of 91.
