Terri Biography
Terry Daniel Akewe (Born 27th of May 1999), well known by his stage name, Terri Starboy is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer.
The Afro-Pop singer who is the eldest of four siblings hails from Edo State, Nigeria. His craving for music started far back as during his days in secondary when he was part of a music recording duo, a group that went on to win the 2013 City People Talent Hunt.
Before signing with Starboy Entertainment, Terri’s stage name used to be Stoned Teezy, he released songs like ‘Where the party at?‘ featuring Fresh & Remy Martins, and right from day one, he had been a big-time fan of Wizkid. Stoned Teezy also released a 5-track EP titled Outchea.
Terri’s music career took a new turn after he recorded a cover of DJ Jimmy Jatt and Wizkid’s single ‘Oshe’ and posted it on Instagram on the 17th of December 2017. He tagged Wizkid alongside a couple of other celebrities and the video caught Wizkid’s attention and made him develop a keen interest in Terri. In February 2018, he got officially signed to Starboy Entertainment records by Wizkid and made his debut on the song ‘Soco‘ which was arguably the biggest Nigerian song in 2018.
In 2021, Terri exited Starboy Entertainment ceremoniously and kick-started his indie career.
