Top Nigerian artists without a Studio Album

The release of studio album beautifies/glamorize the profile of a singer and even the fans take it out on their favorite act when they go so long without a studio album but these artists have gone against the norm and have continued to thrive and excel in their music career even without a studio album.

Here are the top Nigerian artists that have no studio album yet.

(1) Tekno

Tekno definitely owes his fans an apology for this one. If there is a relevance hierarchy on this list, Tekno will definitely come as number one. The Cartel Music boss has a good number of hit songs to his name but still doesn’t own an album or even an EP.

The singer started with K-Money under which he released the single ‘Holiday’ featuring Davido. He later got signed to MMMG by Zubi Franklin and delivered numerous hit songs under the label but was still unable to release an album or even an EP.

He has however promised that his debut album is done and dusted and will be out pretty soon.

(2) Teni

In an industry where many take years to break into and also serious work to remain relevant, Teni made it look easy as it took her a short period of time to become a force to reckon with in the music industry.

The ‘Case’ crooner started with Magic Finger Records which is owned by Shizzi and she later moved on to Dr Dolor Entertainment.

She has since been an asset to the label with her archive of hit singles like ‘Case’, ‘Uyo Meyo’, ‘Power Rangers’ and others. Even tho she has an EP ‘Billionaire’, she is yet to release an album.

Even tho her career is still quite young, I think she is due/ready to thrill her fans with a studio album.

(3) Rudeboy

After building a big brand for himself and being a member of the biggest music group in Africa, Rudeboy and Mr P allowed their feeling get in the way of business as they allowed and watch their brand ‘P-Square’ and all the group’s achievements go down the drain.

The duo split up finally in 2017 and kicked off their solo career.

Rudeboy has since been doing well for himself since he parted ways with his brother Mr. P, the singer has delivered a good number of hit songs as he slowly walks back to being an A-list artist as a solo singer and he is definitely all set to unlock his debut album as a solo act.

(4) Maleek Berry

The talented youngster who started out as a music producer now has dominance in the music industry not just as a producer but also as a singer.

He released his first solo single in 2016 ‘On Fire’ and since then he has been progressing all the way.

Maleek Berry has since released 2 EP ‘Last Daze Of Summer’ in 2016 and ‘First Daze Of Winter’ in 2018 but he is yet to release his debut studio album.

(5) Naira Marley

2019 will forever be a remarkable year for the Moves Recording singer – Naira Marley due to the events that unfolded.

Naira Marley optimized his predicament and turned it into an advantage this year.

The singer added a good number of hit songs to his archive this year and he has an army of fans well known as Marlians and I’m pretty sure that a new/debut album from Naira Marley will meet them well.

Naira Marley released an EP in 2015 titled ‘Gotta Dance’ which contained 7 songs but he is still yet to release an album.

(6) Terri

Apart from being talented, I can also say that luck was also a factor in the success of Terri’s career.

On a daily basis, videos are being sent to Wizkid by upcoming artists looking for a record deal or to even get a feature from the Starboy but with just one video on Instagram Terri got Wizkid’s attention and was even signed on to Starboy Entertainment.

Currently, Terri is the only artist that is signed to Wizkid’s label and the talented artist was featured on Nigeria’s biggest song of 2018 – Soco.

He has since released singles of his own like ‘Bia’, ‘On Me’, but he is still yet to put out a body of work.

(7) Rema

To be honest, Rema, Mavin Records and Jonzing world deserve an accolade for what they have been able to achieve with Rema’s career in such a short span of time.

Rema was introduced into the game in March 2019 and in 9 months time the singer has become a household name in the music industry.

He made his mark with his first EP ‘Rema – EP’, an EP that had no single mediocre song. The youngster went on to release another EP ‘Bad Commando’ in the same year and the EP was also great but I think it’s high time the singer brace up himself and deliver his debut album already.

(8) Soft

The Dagogo records singer, Collins Uche Faith who is professionally known as Soft has won the heart of so many young Nigerians with his catchy songs and impressive dance steps.

The singer has worked with a lot of A-list Nigerian artists like Davido, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, and others and he has quite a good number of hit songs to his archive.

Despite the success of the youngster, he still hasn’t seen the need to put out a studio album yet.

(9) Skiibii

The Nigerian singer/songwriter, Abbey Elias who is well known as Skiibii was initially signed to Five Star Music but his success came right after his contract with the label ended and he moved on to launch his own record label, More Grace Entertainment.

His first major hit was ‘Sensima’ which featured the Banks Music CEO – Reekado Banks. He followed that up with ‘Omaema’, and then ‘Daz How Star Do’ which featured Teni, Falz, and DJ Neptune.

Despite all the years in the music industry, he has no studio album yet and this isn’t how star do for sure.
