Baba Ijesha granted bail

Actor Olarewaju James, who is well known as Baba Ijesha has been granted bail.

The actor who was detained in police custody since April for allegedly having sex with a minor, daughter of comedian, Princess, was granted bail today May 17, on health grounds by a magistrate who was at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID Panti to review some cases in a bid to decongest the police facility.

Among the bail conditions listed by the lawyer for Baba Ijesha’s release are two reliable sureties – one of them must be a level 10 officers, a direct blood relation, and a N500,000 bail bond in like sum.

His lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana, in a statement on Monday, May 17, said, “He has been granted bail about one hour ago. We are working to perfect the bail. He was granted bail on health grounds. He has not been released. He will be released after his bail conditions have been met.”

The accused actor is yet to be charged to court due to the industrial strike by the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN)
