Jerry Williams is a Nigerian Nollywood actor and film producer. He was born on the 24th of September 1985 and hails from Anambra State, Nigeria.

Jerry Williams came into the limelight after he starred in the movie ‘The Chosen King’.

Education

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts which he obtained at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Career

From a tender age, Jerry Williams was passionate about acting. During his school days, he joined a drama club in his school and this further motivated him to pursue a career in Nollywood.

He has since starred in over 100 Nigerian movies (see his discography below) and has acted alongside other top movie stars like Destiny Etiko, Chizzy Alichi, Ken Erics, and many more.

His talent and hard work have brought him accolades and awards. He won the ‘Best New Act To Watch’ at the Africa Movie Awards and won the Most Promising Actor at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

Controversies

On the 29th of June, 2023, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) released a statement suspending Jerry Williams over his involvement with illicit substances.

The statement reads

“The Guild has been monitoring his involvement in illicit substances since December last year until it got out of hand, and as it is now, he cannot be allowed to associate with other performers on set due to d@nger.

He ought to have been suspended before now. But we decided to allow him to go through minor treatments, which he has been defaulting overtimes. But as it stands now, Jerry is a risk not only to himself but also, to other actors who might be acting alongside him on set.

We, therefore, have decided to suspend him indefinitely until he gets a clean bill of health from a medical practitioner or a professional that handles drug abuse.”
