Koh Yah Hwee who is popularly known as Ya Hui is a Singaporean actress and Television personality. She was born on the 18th of May 1987 in Singapore.

She had her big break in the year 2008 when she starred in the popular Singaporean drama film titled ‘Love Blossom’.

Education

Ya Hui attended Serangoon Junior College and Manjusri Secondary School. During her years in college, she was always the prom queen. She was part of a dance team in college.  

Career

Ya Hui came into the limelight after the 2007 Star Search competition she participated in. She ended up as the 4th Runner-Up in that season and also won Miss Telegenic at the Star Search.

She was chosen as the face for the TVC of the beverages brand Heaven and Earth and she also got a contract with Mediacorp. She landed a role in the drama series Love Blossoms II and acted alongside top actors like Zheng Geping and Ivy Lee. Her impressive acting skills landed her more roles in both English and Madarin channels (Channel 8, U and 5) dramas such as Bountiful Blessings, Point of Entry, Served H.O.T (烧。卖), and Marry Me (我要嫁出去).

She played the role of Chen Liping’s daughter in 2009 in the movie Reunion Dinner. The series got her nominated for the Newcomer Award of the Year in The New Paper Flame Awards 2008 and the Best Newcomer Award for Star Awards 2009. In 2015, she was appointed as the Singapore ambassador of the L’Oréal Paris Youth Code product.
