Education
Arin attended Centennial College and Grace High School. She is an alumnus of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where she studied Cell Biology and Genetics at age 19. On completion of her studies at UNILAG, she left Nigeria for China for her post-graduate studies in biotechnology.
She later obtained a Masters’ degree in International Fashion business from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland in 2015.
Career
Arinola Olowoporoku is a fashion designer and independent arts and culture organizer who is passionate about supporting modern African visual arts.
She is the founder & owner of Nola Black, a fashion brand that designs contemporary women’s wear.
In 2015, she ventured into fashion and she has since worked with the African Artist Foundation, she also once worked with fashion guru, Mai Atafo during her MSc program. She was invited to feature at the AFI Cape Town Fashion Week in 2019 and then in December 2019, she was selected to showcase her fashion collection at the GTBank Fashion Weekend.
Arin was one of the chosen designers that went for a Fashion seminar with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia.
She auditioned for the Big Brother Naija season 6 (Shine Ya Eye) and on the 25th of July, 2021, she was announced as a housemate at the Big Brother Naija Season 6.
On the 15th of August, 2021, the third week of the reality TV Show, she was evicted from the Big Brother Naija house. She plans on releasing a collection, writing more, and hosting more art shows as she has left the show.
