Chico Maziakpono who is popularly known as Chico Ejiro (Nicknamed as Mr. Prolific) is a Nigerian movie producer, director, and screenwriter.
He was born on the 15th of October, 1953 in Delta State in Isoko Delta State where he hails from.
Educational Background
Chico Ejiro obtained a diploma in Agriculture at the Obafemi Awolowo University after which he proceeded to still study Agriculture at the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike.
Career
After cheap video-production equipment became available in Nigeria, Chico Ejiro delved into video production in the ’90s and started his own movie production company ‘Grand Touch Pictures’’. In a 5-year period, he directed over 80 movies with each one being shot in as little as three days. He has worked with veteran Nollywood actors including RMD, Omotola Ekeinde Jalade, Pete Edochie, Liz Benson, Monalisa Chinda, and many others.
He was profiled in an article in the New York Times, dated May 26, 2002 (“When There’s Too Much of a Not-Very Good Thing” by Matt Steinglass) and in an article from the international version of Times Magazine dated May 26, 2002 (“Hollywood, who really Needs It?” By Stephen Faris). He was also featured in the 2007 documentary “Welcome to Nollywood”, which followed him as he made Family Affair 1 and Family Affair 2.

Personal Life
He was married to Joy C. Ejiro (met her in 1994 and they got married in 1998) and they have four children. Chico Ejiro also has two brothers: Zeb Ejiro, the best-known of the new Nigerian cinema auteurs outside the country, and Peter Red Ejiro, also a movie producer.
He met his wife in 1994 at the University of Lagos when he organized a show with his boss then, Opa Williams. At the time, she was still a student and they got married in 1998.
Death
In the early hours of Christmas, December 25, 2020, Ejiro lost his life.
