Abdulrasheed Maina is the former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT). He hails from Biu Local Government Area, Borno State.
Career
Before being appointed as the chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Maina served as a senior administrator in Customs, Immigration, and Prison Pensions Office (CIPPO) for years. In 2010, he was appointed as the chairman of PRTT (Pension Reform Task Team) and headed the task team from 2010 to 2013.
Personal Life
He is a Muslim married man with kids. One of his sons, Faisal Maina is currently standing trial with him.
Controversies
In 2013, Maina was accused of fraud amounting to over ₦2 billion. He was hence dismissed by the Office of Head of Service from his position as Chairman and was declared wanted by EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) after he allegedly fled to Saudi Arabia and was also declared wanted by Interpol.
In 2017, he was secretly reinstated into public service as a director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but was fired by President Muhammadu Buhari who then ordered that he be probed.
In December 2020, he was arrested in Niger Republic and was extradited to Nigeria for trial and during his trial, Maina fainted in the courtroom.
