Chief Bolu Akin-Olugbade (Born April 2nd, 1956) is a Nigerian businessman. He was the son of Babatunde Akin-Olugbade and was the Aare Onakakanfo of Owu Kingdom. He was also the chairman of the Owu Empowerment Foundation Board (Owu is a town in Ogun State, Nigeria).
Education
He attended Corona School and King’s College in Lagos. After that, he traveled to London to further his education. He studied at the University of London from 1975 to 1978 where he obtained an LLB (Legum Baccalaureus or Bachelor of Laws).
After that, he enrolled in the University of California for his master’s where he studied from 1980 to 1981 and had a distinction in Corporate and International Business Transaction Law.
Personal Life
He was married to Yeye Ladunni and their union was blessed with children.
Career/Businesses
6 years after the completion of his master’s degree, Bolu Akin-Olugbade started his law firm O.B Akin-Olugbade and Partners in 1987. In 1999 he started GMT Nigeria, a logistics and supply chain company that provides logistics services across sub-Saharan Africa.
He started Bolu Akin-Olugbade Limited, a business conglomerate with an interest in property development, construction, manufacturing, among others in 2011.
Death
Bolu Akin-Olugbade died on the 13th of January 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.
