Bright Kojo Onipayede who is popularly known as Kojo Forex is a Ghanaian forex trader, mentor, and businessman. He was born on the 29th of March, 1993, in Ghana.

Education

He studied Accounting at the University of Ghana. He gained admission into the University of Ghana in 2012 and graduated in 2016.

He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Financial Management at Manchester University.

Career

Kojo started trading in 2012 at the age of 19. He stumbled on Forex in his first year at the University of Ghana.

After gaining admission into the University of Ghana, his parents started to let go of his financial responsibilities, leaving him to fend for himself and so there was an urgent need for a source of income. His friends were already into other hustles like sports betting and he started to research for a means of income for himself. Being in the finance department, and studying accounting, Kojo already got to know about trading from movies like Wolf of Wall Street and was fascinated with the lifestyle of traders in these movies.

He started with a $300 account, without any mentor, and without trying a demo account, he delved into a live account.

Being a studious person in school, he brought his studying habits into forex and decided to study all the indicators on Meta Trader 4 and by the time he was done with school, he knew so much about indicators.

After graduating in 2016, Kojo did his one year of National Service at the National Petroleum Authority and was in the Finance Department. On completion of the one-year program, he got a one-year extension. On completion of his one-year extension, inspired by a mentor and discipline in the profession, he decided to join the military. He left the National Petroleum Authority and gave the military a shot but that didn’t work out and he was left jobless. This was the point in his life where he decided to give trading his all as he had nothing left and he doubled down in trading and this was by 2017.

Kojo’s father is a Ghanaian Police officer, so he got allocated an apartment by the Government but since he stayed at his own place, the apartment from the Government was empty, so Kojo asked his father to let him stay there since it was empty and his father agreed. He moved into the apartment and would stay indoors for weeks just watching the charts. His family at the time started to think he was into fraud as he would just be indoors with his laptop but he had to take his time to convince his dad that he wasn’t into fraud.

Kojo’s big financial breakthrough came during the lockdown, at that time, he had investors who had given him money to trade and he would keep 50% of the profits while the investor got to keep 50% and he had a crazy winning streak during the lockdown.

Kojo is also a vlogger and makes videos for YouTube. He started vlogging in June 2019 and his YouTube channel ‘KOJO FOREX’ currently has over 208,000 subscribers.

Kojo is also a businessman who owns real estate properties and he is the co-founder of the proprietary firm, Express Funded. He is also a forex mentor and tutors those interested in learning how to trade. He owns Kojo Forex Academy.
