Lebohang Mpyana who was also known as Littie was a South African comedienne, actress, singer, and MC.

She was born on the 3rd of January, 1989, in Ga-Mokgokong in Moletjie Village, Limpopo, South Africa, and died on the 1st of November, 2023

In 1998, she lost her mother and she was eventually raised by her grandparents. She is well known for playing the role of Khelina in DiepCity.

Education

Lebohang Mpyana graduated from Kgabo Secondary School. She also obtained an arts degree from both the Paul Rapetswa Institute of Dramatic Art and Mahuna Institutes for the Arts.

Career

Lebohang Mpyana was a woman of many talents. She could act, sing, and also make people laugh and most of her performances were in her local dialect, Sepedi.

For 18 years she worked at Mahuma Group. From the year 2016, she played the role of Sylvia in Thobela FM’s Mahlakung drama. She portrayed the role so well and received great feedback that eventually made her consider going into acting even tho that wasn’t her dream career.

While she was working at Thobela FM, she used to also do comedy performances around Limpopo until the lockdown came which made it impossible for her to carry on with her comedy performances so she resorted to making comedy skits and sharing them online.

Prior to the lockdown, she heard about the audition for DiepCity in 2019 and decided to give it a shot and did an online audition. After months of waiting, she was eventually contacted by the DiepCity production team in late 2020, informing her that got a role in the forthcoming movie. In 2021, she played the role of Khelina in the show, DiepCity. She portrayed the character so well that she won the Viewers’ Choice Best Actress Award at the Royalty Soapie Awards in September 2021.

Personal Life

Lebohang Mpyana didn’t get married and it is unclear if she was dating anyone before she passed on as she kept her personal/love life to herself.

Death

Lebohang Mpyana died on the 1st of November, 2023, and according to her family’s statement, she died after a brief illness.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our daughter Lebogang Mpyana.
Lebo died after a short illness. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers in this time of bereavement.
