Olawunmi Christy Otedola who is popularly known as Tolani Otedola is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.

She was born on the 21st of April, 1986, and hails from Oyo State, Nigeria. She is the daughter of Nigerian billionaire and oil mogul, Femi Otedola.

Tolani was born to Femi Otedola by Olayinka Odukoya and they had her out of wedlock. Femi Otedola’s mother did not approve of their love and eventually took custody of the baby, Tolani, and sent her mother away.

Despite Femi’s mother’s rejection of their love, Femi Otedola was in love with her and Olayinka eventually got pregnant again for Femi Otedola, at this point, Femi was already married to his current wife, Nana Otedola but as fate would have it, Olayinka lost the pregnancy seven months later and their paths never crossed again.

Career

When she was done with school, she decided to pursue a professional music career and in 2017, she released her debut single ‘Tenderoni’ featuring Skales.

In 2019, she released her sophomore single ‘Ba Mi Lo’ featuring Reekado Banks, a song that proved that she isn’t just a trust fund kid without talent. The music video garnered over 2.3 million views on YouTube.

Tolani is the first child and daughter of one of the richest Nigerian men, Femi Otedola. She currently resides in the UK and also spends a lot of time too in Nigeria. Tolani has three siblings, Florence Otedola who is popularly known as DJ Cuppy, one of Africa’s biggest female disc jockeys, Temi Otedola, a Nollywood actress, and her only brother, Fewa Otedola.

Her brother, Fewa has autism and the family gives him all the love and support that he needs. Her grandfather was the governor of Lagos State, Nigeria.

After Tolani and Reekado Banks made the song ‘Ba Mi Lo’, there were rumors of them dating but Tolani debunked the rumor in an interview. She has kept her love life and even personal life away from the media and public as no one knows who she is currently dating.
