Idowu Adeyemi who is popularly known as YhemoLee and Olowo Eko is a Nigerian actor, singer, songwriter, Event Host, Club Promoter, and socialite.

He was born on the 4th of April, 1993 and hails from Osun State, Nigeria.

Education

YhemoLee attended Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife Osun State, Nigeria and he obtained a degree in Public Administration from the institution in May 2016.

Career

YhemoLee was born and raised in Ketu, Lagos. Even tho he was born in one of the roughest places in Lagos, his parents ensured that he never mingled with the street boys and never lived a street lifestyle.

Just after his secondary school education, his parents got divorced and he slowly started to mingle with people from his hood. This changed YhemoLee, giving him street smartness and making him more of an outgoing person.

YhemoLee started to fend for himself and his younger sister as their parents had gone separate ways and focused on themselves. YhemoLee was able to gain admission into Obafemi Awolowo University for a Pre-Degree. During the Pre-Degree, most of his classmates were students from a well-to-do family who couldn’t pass JAMB to gain direct entry. With his street smartness, he was easily loved by his classmates and became very famous in school and he started hosting and organizing events while in school.

After graduation, he moved to Lagos alongside Asake and Superboy Cheque, and that was when reality set in. He was new to Lagos and therefore couldn’t host events as he wasn’t popular in Lagos at the time. He was living in a 500,000 Naira per year apartment at the time and had no job. He went for different movie auditions and never got selected in any of them.

One day, he just pulled out his phone and made a kind of jesting video. Later on, he watched the video over and over again and it was really funny to him. He shared the video on Instagram. His followers at the time enjoyed the video and he decided to keep on doing it. He was making and sharing relatable funny videos on Instagram for about three months until one day, he made a video about people who know how to dance only when sitting down but can’t dance when standing. Don Jazzy reposted his video and shortly after that, Tunde Ednut also posted the video. His followers on Instagram shot up from 5,000 to about 50,000 after that.

This was a huge encouragement to him and he kept on making videos and he even formed an alter ego known as Uncle Margaret and this was YhemoLee’s second rise to fame after his first spell in school.

He started getting advert gigs and making money once again and after a period of saving his money, he decided to move to the Island so he could network with so successful and popular people in Lagos. He got an apartment eventually and started networking immediately in the Island until the lockdown came in 2020.

During the lockdown, he started trading crypto and he was regularly going live on Instagram and each time he went live, he pulls a lot of viewers and he also does giveaway a lot on his live videos from the money he made from Crypto. As he continued his giveaway, he started creating an impression of a guy that has money to give out and so people were regularly on his live video. And the end of the lockdown, that was when YhemoLee’s nightlife career started.

At this time, YhemoLee was already known in Beach House parties for spraying money a lot, so when the club opened after the lockdown, whenever YhemoLee posted that he will be present at any club, there will always be a great turn up at that club, with some people hoping that he sprays money. Unlike the beach house part, some of these people who came to the club for YhemoLee will have to buy a table so they can be able to gain entry into the club and that was when YhemoLee observed that his presence in the clubs he visited was making the club owners money. With time, even some well-to-do nightlifers became fond of partying anywhere YhemoLee parties and YhemoLee built a reputation of the guy who is associated with happening/popping night clubs/parties.

YhemoLee reached out to White Lion Cubana, a friend of his from the club at the time, and they came up with an idea of YhemoLee hosting a party in Cubana named Ultra Luxury. The party was a huge success and that started kick-started YhemoLee’s nightlife career.

During the lockdown, YhemoLee released his debut song ‘Mon Cheri’ and featured Asake, Chinko Ekun, Ashidapo, and Sunkey Daniel. On the 20th of December, 2022 YhemoLee released his debut music body of work, an EP titled ‘Olowo Eko’.

YhemoLee is also an actor and has starred in movies like Gangs of Lagos, Traffic and other movies (see his filmography below).

Personal Life

YhemoLee is a lover boy and he is not one to keep his relationship private. He was previously in a relationship with Tayo. YhemoLee showered her with gifts on several occasions and they went on vacations severally. Unfortunately, the broke up in July 2023, according to those close to them, YhemoLee was cheating on her with another lady but when he eventually caught her cheating he couldn’t take it.

Eventually, YhemoLee moved on and found love again and started dating another lady named Bisola. Once again, YhemoLee was very open about his relationship with Bisola and shared loved of photos of themselves. They even got matching tattoos.

YhemoLee and Bisola eventually broke up and YhemoLee took to Snapchat to indirectly call out Bisola for sleeping with a married man.

YhemoLee’s parents are divorced, they got separated when he was just 15 years old.
