AJ Ross is an American journalist and sports columnist. She was born on the 5th of July, 1987 in Oakland, Pittsburgh, United States.

AJ Ross is a sideline reporter for THE NFL ON CBS, as well as the Network’s college football and college basketball coverage.

Education

She attended Oakland Catholic School. She is an alumnus of Howard University where she received a degree in Journalism and graduated magna cum laude.

Career

AJ Ross first camera appearance was on WMBF News in Myrtle Beach, S.C where she worked as an anchor and multi-media journalist.

After that, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and joined WSYX where she worked as both a news anchor and reporter. She later left WSYX and joined WTAE in her hometown of Pittsburgh. Then from WTAE, she joined WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio as a news reporter.

In September 2014, she joined WABC where she worked as a reporter covering breaking news and human interest stories across the Tri-State and beyond reporting for the 12pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm newscasts.

She worked at WABC from September 2014 to December 2018. AJ Ross also worked with the WNBA where she solo hosted news segments and the W’s All-Star live-streaming coverage across the league’s digital platforms.

In February 2018, she joined CBS Sports where she serves as a sideline reporter for THE NFL ON CBS, as well as the Network’s college football and college basketball coverage. She has also served as sideline reporter for the HBCU All-Star Game and is a host on CBS Sports’ WE NEED TO TALK and BEYOND LIMITS.

In 2019, she freelanced with MSG Network covering the sidelines of the NY Streets arena football team games.

AJ Ross has won Emmy awards two times for covering sports news. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and served as the director of Region IV from 2011 to 2013, and a member of Alpha Chapter Delta Sigma Theta.
