On the 22nd of March 2019, Mavin Records (Nigeria’s biggest record label) & Jonzing World unveiled Divine Ikubor, who is popularly known as Rema, as the label’s new act.

He made his debut with a self-named 4-track EP and in just a year, Rema has grown to become one of the hottest and most demanded artists in Nigeria. The singer undermined the importance of time as a factor of growth in the Nigerian music industry as many haven’t been able to achieve all that he has achieved in such a short span of time.

With three successful EP’s to his name, a few features, and singles, here are the top ten songs of all time of Rema.

Top Ten Rema’s Songs Of All Time

(1) Dumebi

The song ‘Dumebi’ isn’t just Rema’s biggest song but it is also one of the biggest Nigerian songs in 2019 (the year of its release) and it is also Rema’s first hit song.

The song was produced by the fast-rising Nigerian producer, Ozedikus while the official music video was shot and directed by Ademola Falomo. ‘Dumebi’ was taken off Rema’s debut self-named EP and it was the 3rd song on the project. The success of the song has triggered so many remixes by international singers like Major Lazer, Matoma, Becky G, Jarreau Vandal, Jayceeoh & Henry Fong.

(2) Iron Man

The Mavin Records and Jonzing World newcomer, Rema took the music industry by storm in 2019 as he debuted with a masterpiece, a self-named EP which comprised of 4 hit songs. Amongst the songs on the EP is ‘Iron Man’ which was the 1st track on the project.

The song was produced by Ozedikus, mixed and mastered by the astute and timeless Nigerian sound engineer, Swaps while the music video was directed by Clarence Peters.

The song ‘Rema’ was so successful, so much that it made it to Rolling Stones 50 best songs of 2019 and it was also shortlisted by Barack Obama on his 2019 Summer Playlist. ‘Iron Man’ is the second Rema biggest song of all time.

(3) Beamer

After making a mark in the Nigerian music industry in 2019, Rema returned again in 2020 with his first song for the year ‘Beamer’.

He teamed up with Jamaican record producer, Rvssian (who produced it) on the song. The music video was directed by Fxrbes and it just two months of the video release, it has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube. The single ‘Beamer’ is currently Rema’s third-biggest song of all time.

(4) Lady

On the 4th spot of Rema’s biggest songs of all time is the record ‘Lady’. The song was released on the 4th of October, 2019 and it was produced by Mavin Records in-house record producer, Altims while the music video was directed by Tadas-Vanagas.

‘Lady’ was taken off Rema’s second music project, Bad Commando and it is the 1st track on the EP.

(5) Why

In an industry as competitive as the Nigerian music industry where artists keep churning out amazing songs and where breakthrough is extremely difficult, a memorable and remarkable first impression is of paramount importance and Rema definitely gave an astounding first impression with the release of his critically-acclaimed debut EP ‘Rema – EP’.

The EP contains 4 songs and off the EP is this record titled ‘Why’, it is the second track on the project, it was produced by DeeVee and has no official music video.

(6) Corny

The record ‘Corny’ holds the 6th on the list of Rema’s biggest songs of all time. The song was taken off his debut EP ‘Rema – EP’.

It was the 4th & last song on the project and it was produced ‘Ozedikus’ and currently has no official music video.

(7) Bad Commando

The song ‘Bad Commando’ holds the 7th position on the list of Top Ten Rema’s songs of all time.

On the record, Rema made his position in the game quite clear. The song was taken off his 3rd EP ‘Bad Commando’ and it was the first song on the project. The song was produced by London (Honter) while the music video was directed by Seun Opabisi, assisted by Kewa Oni.

(8) Boulevard

Even before he was discovered and came to limelight, Rema was fond of making freestyle videos in his car and sharing on Instagram and that was how he was discovered by D’Prince and Don Jazzy.

After becoming famous, Rema still maintained his culture of freestyling in his cars and sharing on Instagram. He curated some of his popular freestyles and compiled them in making an EP titled ‘Freestyle’. Off the EP is this record titled ‘Boulevard’ and It is the first song on the project. The song was produced by Mavin Records in-house producer Altims and it currently has no official music video.

(9) Spiderman

Being one of his most popular car freestyle songs, the record ‘Spiderman’ was shortlisted and made it to his Freestyle EP which was released on the 17th of June, 2019.

‘Spiderman’ by Rema was produced by Kcaaz and it the 3rd track on the project and currently has no official music video.

(10) American Love

The tenth biggest Rema song of all time is the record ‘American Love’. The song was originally a freestyle which he made in his car which went on gaining positive reviews from the fans and became fans favorite.

His label shortlisted the song on his Freestyle EP, an EP which contained his most viral and successful car freestyles. ‘American Love’ is the 2nd song on the EP and it was produced by Level and currently has no official music video.
