Music producer, Rexxie arrested in Uganda, years after Tems and Omah Lay were arrested in the same country.

Award-winning Nigerian music producer, Rexxie has just been arrested in Uganda.

The producer was recently in Kenya where he was booked to appear at Black Samurai Lounge in Kenya on the 8th of March and during his stay there, he proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Chisom, at a restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya. After having a great time in Kenya, Rexxie left Kenya for Uganda but his fun-filled holiday turned a nightmare upon arrival in Uganda where he was arrested by the immigration.

Rexxie took to Instagram and wrote

“I have been arrested at the Ugandan immigration. Pls I need help!!!”

And in the caption, he wrote;

This is so unfair! HELP HELP HELP!!!

This has raised concern amongst well-meaning Nigerians on how Uganda treats Nigeria especially her entertainers. In 2020, Omah Lay, Tems, and Donawon, Tems’s manager, were arrested in Uganda and spent days incarcerated. According to Tems, they had to contact her manager’s father who was politically connected and the information got to the Nigerian presidency and that was how they were set free.
