OAU lecturer assaults student for refusing to switch off her phone while in his class (video)

An Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) lecturer identified as Dr Ariyo of the Depart of Electrical Engineering has been accused of assaulting a student for refusing to switch off her phone while in his class.

As seen in the viral video, Dr. Ariyo asked the female student to switch off her phone multiple times but she refused. He kept on repeating himself, asking the lady to switch off her phone until he eventually got very angry, took the phone from the lady and pushed her.

Lere Olayinka, a former aide to ex-governor Ayo Fayose who shared the video online said the female student bled from the assault.

‘’This is a lecturer in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Dr. Ariyo, from the Department of Elect Engineering, assaulting a student in his class today.

The student is currently bleeding and his SAMSUNG phone damaged.”
