Career

Uche Nancy’s career in Nollywood started at a very young age when she was just 13. She was a child actress and starred in movies like Proof of Life, The Seed, Gallant Babes, Fulton Mansion, and many others.

She is also a costume designer and worked as a costume designer on the two hit movies World Apart and Girls Cot. Her work on these movies earned her numerous accolades as a costumier.

Disturbed by the rate at which young up-and-coming actresses were being sexually harassed by male producers, she decided to become a producer herself. According to her, she believes that this will encourage more young girls to go into acting since they know they won’t be sexually harassed. She has since produced numerous Nollywood movies including The Lamb, Best of Enemies, Dirty Diamond, Not My Queen, The Models, Hot Kingdom, Deep Water, Son, and many others.

Uche Nancy got married at the age of 16 and she has four daughters. Popular actresses, Chinenye Nnebe and Sonia Uche are her daughters. Her other two daughters are Ijeoma Nnebe and Jesinta Nnebe.

Her marriage with Mr. Nnebe hit rock bottom and they are now divorced. Their marriage was short-lived and ended when their children were still very young.
